SGD Sunday

Well Hello There! One more week and it’s almost Christmas!! Are you all excited and ready for the festivities?

Today, Janna, Lilith and Nina are sharing another load of phenomenal inspiration with you!! The assignment was, to create something around the phrase “A Day in December”

Here we go! Get inspired!

A few words from Janna:

This was a fun layout to create. I really wanted to make a fun long title and mixed up parts of the Happy Mail stamps with some letter stickers. I have a little trick for only using part of a stamp. Cover the part you don’t want to use with some washi tape. Apply ink onto the stamp. Remove the washi tape and stamp! This enables you to use your stamps in even more ways. Another technique I used was to ink the HAPPY stamp once and stamp it several times without applying more ink. It creates an ombre effect.

A few words from NIna:

I scrapped a photo from last December of my husband and daughter. So much has happened since then and I wrote a bit about all that in the journaling. I used the December month stamp from the Merry Christmas stamp set as well as a couple of my favourite stamps from the Captured stamp set with a navy ink to match the wintery colour scheme.

A few words from Janna:

I just can´t get enough of christmas decoration! Seeing all the nice things in the shops, magazines and TV makes me want to go to my scraproom and start crafting right away :)

News.

I don’t really know how and where to start this announcement. Well, let’s go back to September 2009. Maybe you remember that I was bashed pretty badly on some bash blogs. Silly me read all the comments and my heart literally shattered into a million pieces. I think, it was the beginning of the end. But also a new beginning. (complicated, right?) While my passion for scrapbooking was spread all over the floor, I had to really start thinking about my life, my purpose and I was able to step back and discover my passion for Wedding Photography. If you get lemons, make lemonade :)

Basically, I decided to keep scrapping, but lately it has become very clear to me, that I’m getting more and more busy with photography and I just can’t continue doing two things at once.

As of this month, I will be out of Crate Paper and BlueMoonScrapbooking as well. I felt bad, because I felt like I wasn’t able to work for them wholeheartedly anymore and I’d rather make space for a fresh face with new ideas and lots of passion. So, it’s all good!
My love for Photography has grown and even though, having my own business and all is not always easy (and definitely takes up a ton of my energy) it is so worth it. I love to work with couples, before, on and after their Special Day. It is such fulfilling work to see, that I can make people happy with documenting their stories.
.
All that said, you probably already know what is coming next. Because I’m so thankful for all of you guys I didn’t want to just disappear, but rather wanted to let you know, that this blog will get very quiet soon. I’m not planning on continuing scrapbooking as I did before. Same goes for my Etsy Shop. There are still stamps left in my treasure box, but the shop will close sometimes in January. So these next few weeks will be your very last chance to get your hands on my stamps. By the way, I’ve reduced the price of my stamps from $14.99 to $10 a piece!!
.
I hope this doesn’t come as a big shock for you. Deep down in my heart I’m excited about the time I will get from not crafting – or say, crafting in another way and for another purpose. Deep down I’m excited to focus all my energy on photography and other projects that might come in the future :)
.
I’m really so thankful for you my friends, for sticking with me through good and bad. For complimenting my work. For supporting my stamps. For cheering me on and keeping me going. Thank You!!
.
If you want to keep following my journey, you are more than welcome to read my photography blog or FB page. I’m not going to disappear, but the scrapbooking lane ends here. It has been so amazing to get to know so many ‘strangers’, just because we had this one little thing in common! It has been so awesome to work for such great DT’s and be a part of something bigger than I could have ever imagined. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
.
Well, if you’ve been reading all up to here I guess it’s soon time to say good bye. Good bye to a wonderful 8 years of blogging, learning and making friends. Good bye to dreams that have come true and Hello to new, even bigger dreams!!
.
xoxo, Rahel ♥
.
PS: The SGD Girls and I have decided to go out with a bang! We’re going to have one last Blog Hop on December 23th! So come back to celebrate a wonderful time, more like a part of my life being ended :D

CP Page

Say hello to Jynxy. And his addiction to carrots.

I wanted to make this a playful page, so I punched a whole into the paper, added pale colored threads through and around the page and secured them with tape on the back. It’s really simple, but I love the effect!

I know I mentioned this a few times by now.. but Happy Mail is my all time favorite stamp set from SGD. Not only because it´s so versatile, but the images and sentiments are absolutely fabulous. Especially the hands holding the heart is one of my favorites from that set, so beautiful!

I recently moved and got this photo of my baby girl sitting amongst her toys and the moving boxes. The “Extremely Fragile” and “Please Handle with Lots of Love” stamps really fit the thoughts I have about all of this. Ada seems to be taking the move well but I must remember that she’s just a little girl.

BlueMoon Card & Layout

Hey lovelies :) Today I’m catching up on sharing BlueMoon projects. First off, a card.

I think, this card is one of my favorites up to date. It’s simple, but still, there’s a lot of texture in the design, which of course, I’m probably known for. I’m using the twine in the back as a part of my photography packaging and I love how much rustic flair it brings to the game!

The second project is a travel page. The image is from our road trip to the Death Valley, a few months ago. I wanted to document our passion for our future kids – and no, I’m not pregnant.

I really love pale colors, combined with white (what a surprise!!) and gold. Black and white images help to achieve a subtle and calm look, so turn them into b/w’s if you feel like challenging yourself :D

xoxo, Rahel
