I don’t really know how and where to start this announcement. Well, let’s go back to September 2009. Maybe you remember that I was bashed pretty badly on some bash blogs. Silly me read all the comments and my heart literally shattered into a million pieces. I think, it was the beginning of the end. But also a new beginning. (complicated, right?) While my passion for scrapbooking was spread all over the floor, I had to really start thinking about my life, my purpose and I was able to step back and discover my passion for Wedding Photography. If you get lemons, make lemonade :)

Basically, I decided to keep scrapping, but lately it has become very clear to me, that I’m getting more and more busy with photography and I just can’t continue doing two things at once.

As of this month, I will be out of Crate Paper and BlueMoonScrapbooking as well. I felt bad, because I felt like I wasn’t able to work for them wholeheartedly anymore and I’d rather make space for a fresh face with new ideas and lots of passion. So, it’s all good!
My love for Photography has grown and even though, having my own business and all is not always easy (and definitely takes up a ton of my energy) it is so worth it. I love to work with couples, before, on and after their Special Day. It is such fulfilling work to see, that I can make people happy with documenting their stories.
All that said, you probably already know what is coming next. Because I’m so thankful for all of you guys I didn’t want to just disappear, but rather wanted to let you know, that this blog will get very quiet soon. I’m not planning on continuing scrapbooking as I did before. Same goes for my Etsy Shop. There are still stamps left in my treasure box, but the shop will close sometimes in January. So these next few weeks will be your very last chance to get your hands on my stamps. By the way, I’ve reduced the price of my stamps from $14.99 to $10 a piece!!
I hope this doesn’t come as a big shock for you. Deep down in my heart I’m excited about the time I will get from not crafting – or say, crafting in another way and for another purpose. Deep down I’m excited to focus all my energy on photography and other projects that might come in the future :)
I’m really so thankful for you my friends, for sticking with me through good and bad. For complimenting my work. For supporting my stamps. For cheering me on and keeping me going. Thank You!!
If you want to keep following my journey, you are more than welcome to read my photography blog or FB page. I’m not going to disappear, but the scrapbooking lane ends here. It has been so amazing to get to know so many ‘strangers’, just because we had this one little thing in common! It has been so awesome to work for such great DT’s and be a part of something bigger than I could have ever imagined. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Well, if you’ve been reading all up to here I guess it’s soon time to say good bye. Good bye to a wonderful 8 years of blogging, learning and making friends. Good bye to dreams that have come true and Hello to new, even bigger dreams!!
xoxo, Rahel ♥
PS: The SGD Girls and I have decided to go out with a bang! We’re going to have one last Blog Hop on December 23th! So come back to celebrate a wonderful time, more like a part of my life being ended :D

  2. I can’t believe I almost cried reading your text. You’re a stranger, but one that lead me to the world of scrapbooking few years ago. I still don’t have time or money to scrapbook myself, but almost every day I check your blogs and every so often watch scrapbooking videos from many people. So thanks for giving me inspiration! I will keep reading your other blog for sure. And I guess I’ll have to start watching your scrapbooking videos from start to finish once again, since there will be no more. Thanks and good luck with wedding photography!

Now I’m entering adulthood. I’ve fan girled you for 4 years!! It’s really saddening me to say goodbye, but I’m getting a last word to you! You’re a fantastic lady, a great inspiration and I’m really going to miss your work.

  4. I’ve been reading your blog for over a year (maybe closer to 2 years?!?) and enjoy seeing your work. I’m sadden by your news, but wish you much luck in your photography business. On another note, I enjoy photography too, so will be following you! Take care!

PS-Words are powerful, some are uplifting and some are just plain hurtful. I don’t know what happened (& its not my business) but keep your head up. Some people are just mean! Took a quick peek and your photos are amazing!

  5. So sorry to hear this news! I am such a big fan of yours! I find your style brilliant, refreshing and very inspiring! This makes me very angry that people have cut you down and hurt your feelings. I will miss your effortless creations very much!

  6. Sorry to see you leave scrapping, but it’s exciting that you’re pursuing your true passion. I’m sorry to read that you were cyber bullied. Remember, those sites only trash the people who are important enough and talented enough to gain their attention. They say those nasty things out of jealousy. I don’t know what was said about you, but try to forget it. All the best to you, and I hope to see you on some design teams again in the future! :)

  7. mmmh…so sorry to read this, but I understand you. Sometimes people have to close a door to open a windows. You have chose your “element” to be completely happy, and if it’s photography, it’s Ok; you’re awesome capturing sweet love moments.
I started in the “scrapbooking world” with your videos and blog… you have been a great teacher and I only can say you THANKS. Thanks for all that I learnt with you.

Be happy Rahel, be happy doing what you like to do <3

    xoxo, Ruth.

  8. Dear Rahel

This is certainly sad, not only for me (as a reader of your blog and, may I say so, friend?) but for the whole scrapbooking world as such. However, seeing your beautiful pictures, I am sure you did the right thing. :-) You are such a sweet person and I wish you nothing but the very best!

Don’t let people get you down. As they say: “Erfolg muss man sich erarbeiten, Neid kriegt man umsonst.” :-) I hope to see you again soon – you will always be more than welcome at Dan and my place!

    All the best,

(althought if you ever make a project just for fun, please feel free to add it). Good luck with photography, im glad you got a new flash, I think it’s really going to improve your photos. Im still going to follow you there :)

  12. Rahel,
I wish you luck and happiness in your new venture(s). I must agree with everyone you were my first inspiration with scrapbooking with minimum $$$ .. I loved watching your videos, your use of using ordinary things into beautiful embellishments on your layouts. Because of you I fell in love with “splattering” pages with paint! I will continue to watch your videos and layouts as I believe they are timeless …. good luck

    Sylvia ~
